Untapped beauty resources in Bergen and Passaic Counties

THE BERGAN RECORD/HERALD NEWS (REPRINTED FROM SPECIAL TO FASHION & BEAUTY)

By Winnie Bonelli

Cinderella had a fairy god mother, but North Jersey residents don't have to rely on fantasy or magic to look and feel like royalty.  One of the best-kept secrets in Bergen and Passaic counties is the network of professional schools that offer spa treatments fit for a princess, at pauper prices.

Opened 44 years ago, CAPRI Institute, 1595 Main Ave., Clifton, expanded in 1990 to 615 Winters Ave., Paramus.  CAPRI offers studies in cosmetology, skin care and nail care, and operates both hair and skin care clinics for the public at five locations.

Students under the supervision of CAPRI instructors, perform all services.  These range from a basic shampoo and set or blow dry for $7 (with children's cuts priced at $6).

The Skin Care clinic is by appointment only, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus Monday through Thursday evenings at 6:30.  The hair clinic operates on a walk-in basis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

For further information, contact the Clifton Campus at 973-772-4610 or the Paramus location at 201-599-0880.
