Capri Rocks at the Emiliani Beauty Expo
October 11th, Emiliani Beauty Expo 2010, Raritan Center, Edison, NJ held a Student Competition with the theme being Education Rocks. Out of 66 contestants that entered, CAPRI Institute had 2 students that placed in the top ten in the competition. CAPRI was very proud of both their students, Molly Kievit from the Paramus campus and Angel Almestica represented the Clifton Campus. A special congratulation goes out to Angel who graduated on October 18th from CAPRI.
To enter the competition each student had to create an original look with a color and cut on a mannequin along with submitting a 500 word essay on what inspires them about the industry. A judging panel selected the top ten that were present on the stage at the Emiliani Expo where the first, second and third place winners were announced. CAPRI was thrilled when Molly’s name was called for third place in the competition. “Being part of the “top ten “is an honor in itself, but taking home 3rd was the icing on the cake” said Marjorie Amorosi, Area Supervisor of CAPRI.
Mrs. Damiano, president of CAPRI Institute who was also in attendance at the expo said “ I am so proud of both students for being selected for the top ten in a competition that supports education and recognizes it’s importance for the future of cosmetology. CAPRI strives to graduate well educated professionals prepared to join the beauty industry work force. ”
CAPRI Institute is looking forward to their own Haircoloring Competition that takes place in February 2011. “It is going to be even more exciting this year since our partnership with P&G and Wella Professional.
