Capri Institute of Hair Design (CIHD) signed the Certification and Agreement on 7-1-20 and returned the same to the Department assuring intent to use $245,469.00, no less than 50 percent of the total $490,938.00 in funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Capri Institute reopened its schools on Monday, August 3, 2020.  Throughout the week of August 10, 2020 CIHD announced and advised students of HEERF funds available and how to apply. CIHD had an estimated 300 currently enrolled students eligible.  Students were informed to apply for the funds by filing a valid FAFSA and submitting an application.  The CIHD application includes but is not limited to the terms of Section 484 of the HEA.  As of 8/14/2020, students were in the process of filing and applying, distribution amounts pending, 0 awards, we have not issued grants to students yet.  Awarding status will be reported every 45 days.

Students that complete their application under stated terms, provide an explanation of related new expenses incurred and are determined eligible for Title IV federal aid through a valid FAFSA will be eligible for a HEERF grant.  Qualifications will be based upon EFC.  Applications will be accepted through September 25, 2020.


Capri Institute of Hair Design’s initial application deadline of September 4, 2020 was extended to September 25, 2020 on 9/1/20.  Throughout the week of September 7, 2020 CIHD again announced and advised students of HEERF funds available and how to apply.  As of 9/9/2020, CIHD received 54 applications for HEERF grants.  Students continue the process of filing and applying, distribution amounts pending, 0 awards, we have not issued grants to students yet.  Awarding status will be reported every 45 days.
